The journal Science offers an 11-week, paid summer internship for undergraduate students who are interested in journalism as a career and who want to learn about science writing. The internship is intended to increase diversity among journalists who cover science. Deadline: Jan 10, 2025.

The Asian American Journalists Association is accepting nominations for the 2025 Journalism Excellence Awards until Feb 12.  Established in 1987, the awards recognize and encourage excellence among journalists and outstanding coverage of Asian American and Pacific Islander issues by AAJA members.

DEADLINE: Fund for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) Grants

FIJ awards grants up to $10,000 for stories that break new ground and expose wrongdoing in the public and private sectors. Next deadline is Apr 28, 2025. Plus, seed grants (May 9), expedited grants for urgent stories, follow-up grants for timely stories after initial investigations and emergency grants for stories on threats to democracy in the U.S (rolling).

The East-West Center’s 2024 Exchange takes place Sep 19-28 with the theme “Balancing US-Korea Relations in an Election Year.” Open to US and Korean print, broadcast, and online journalists with a minimum of five years of experience. Apply by May 31.
