Combating Green Corruption: Fighting Financial Crime As a Driver of Environmental Degradation

Event Date:
September 19, 2023

Please join the Basel Institute on Governance for Combating Green Corruption: Fighting Financial Crime As a Driver of Environmental Degradation, a discussion on the "Green Corruption" approach to tackling nature crime featuring high-level representatives from the US and Ukrainian governments, Embassy of Liechtenstein, and World Wildlife Foundation.

Nature crimes and financial crimes are intricately intertwined. By identifying and disrupting corruption and illicit financial flows, nature crimes such as illegal mining, wildlife trade, logging and waste disposal can be tracked, disrupted and prosecuted.

The event will be held on September 19, 2023, 9:00-10:30 a.m. ET, at the Wilson Center Auditorium in the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, 1300 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Washington, DC. Light refreshments will be served. Live streaming will be available and interested parties can register here.
