Environmental Stressors in the Developmental of Origins of Disease
Event Date:
December 7, 2009 to December 10, 2009
Exposure to environmental chemicals during prenatal and early postnatal life can affect gene expression and even trigger epigenetic changes--not mutations but how a gene is expressed (turned on, turned off, or inappropriately expressed). The objective of the conference is to examine animal and human evidence supporting the idea that developmental exposures to toxicants can lead to disease later. Analyses will look at this on a disease-by-disease basis.
