The fires in Southern California have stopped burning, but the aftermath coverage has just begun.

This #SEJWebinar is all about debriefing with colleagues about our coverage so far, discussing how to handle continuing coverage and preparing to report on the next wildfire.

Throughout a 90-minute session, we’ll hear from subject matter experts on recurring and emerging concerns, from physical access and safety concerns, to environmental health and exposures, to trauma-informed reporting, and the ways coverage is changing.

The loosely-structured webinar will feature presentations from a panel of experts, and provide an opportunity for us to get together and talk through what worked, what’s working and what’s not. Drop in or stick around.

We’ve got three goals for this webinar: share existing SEJ resources, learn about SEJ member concerns on the job and develop recommendations for how SEJ can help members in the future.

Moderators:

  • Molly Peterson, Board Secretary, Society of Environmental Journalists; Staff Writer, Public Health Watch
  • Caleigh Wells, Vice President of Programs, Society of Environmental Journalists; Journalist, APM’s Marketplace
