Webinar: Drone Journalism
A good photograph is more than just an image. It can tell a story. It has a subject. It has action. It sometimes has tension. And in this age of the infodemic, photos have taken on an increased role in how people take in information.
And when it comes to telling climate stories it can sometimes be almost impossible to tell a full story without photos and video. But climate stories can be of a grand scale, requiring photos to match. And that means arial photography, which can be expensive, particularly for freelancers.
Learn how to access drone and airplane photography that you can use to illustrate your work. Join Columbia University, in partnership with the Society of Environmental Journalists, for a conversation with Isabelle Nyroth of GLOBHE.com. She’ll discuss their work creating a database of drone photos and video around the world, focused on climate change. With your input, we can also help her make the service of value to journalists. January 27, 12 Noon ET.
