"President-elect Donald Trump is expected to name former Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue (R) as Agriculture secretary, with an announcement planned for tomorrow morning.
Perdue's expected nomination was confirmed by a source on Capitol Hill, where he'll face a confirmation hearing with the Senate Agriculture Committee. Committee Chairman Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) said earlier this week that he hasn't met Perdue but that his experience as governor is a good qualification for the job.
Fox News and other outlets first reported the expected nomination tonight.
Perdue was governor of Georgia from 2003 to 2011. He's the first cousin of Sen. David Perdue (R-Ga.), a member of the Agriculture Committee tasked with confirming him."
