"EPA: IG To Audit Pruitt's Superfund Task Force"

"EPA's internal watchdog plans to review the agency's Superfund task force — a top priority of former Administrator Scott Pruitt.

The EPA inspector general said in a notice today that it will start "preliminary research" on the task force's creation and operation. The IG noted that the audit was self-initiated.

"Our objective is to determine whether the EPA followed applicable criteria, such as laws and rules, in creating the Superfund Task Force, and the development of the Task Force's July 2017 report and recommendations," said the notice, which was signed by Tina Lovingood, director of the IG's Land Cleanup and Waste Management Directorate in its audit and evaluation office."
