Flint Congressman Wants Probe After Lead Treatment Drug Price Hike

"FLINT, MI – Rep. Dan Kildee has asked Congressional leaders to launch an investigation into a pharmaceutical company accused of raising prices of its lead treatment drug in the wake of Flint's lead water crisis receiving international attention.

However, the company claims the drug wouldn't be appropriate for treating those afflicted during the city's water crisis.

Kildee, D-Flint Twp., sent the letter Tuesday, Nov. 1, asking congressional leaders to investigate Valeant Pharmaceuticals' price hike on Calcium Disodium Versenate."
