"High lead levels have been found in drinking water of all five Vermont schools tested so far in a new state program.
A drinking fountain at one elementary school showed lead in drinking water levels hundreds of times above Vermont’s allowable level of 4 parts per billion.
Vermont historically has one of the highest levels of lead poisoning among children in the nation, due to old buildings with lead paint and old water taps."
