Gulfbase is a project of the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.

The Gulf of Mexico: Origin, Waters and Biota volumes 1 and 2 (of a 7-volume series), "Biodiversity" and "Ocean and Coastal Economy", were published in 2009 by Texas A&M University Press.
