NOAA Launches New Drought Resource

November 14, 2007

Drought is a major local story for many news media. Weather extremes, including drought, are an integral part of the climate change dilemma. On Nov. 1, 2007, NOAA launched a site that pulls together key information sources for covering the drought situation in the US, where almost half the country remains in serious drought, and some areas are predicted to bear this burden for decades. The site includes links to current conditions, forecasts, impacts, mitigation, planning, research, media coverage, and international efforts.
