Court Upholds Park Police Chief Fired for Talking to Press

July 15, 2009

The federal Appeals Court for the D.C. Circuit has reinstated a lawsuit by former National Park Police Chief Teresa Chambers, who was fired by the Bush administration for talking to the press.

Chambers charged that Bush Interior officials destroyed a performance review that would have contradicted statements made by then-deputy director of the National Park Service Donald Murphy in a deposition.

The case had been dismissed, but will now go back to trial.
