The Obama administration’s science openness performance got some high-profile scrutiny at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, Oct. 3, 2011. Several journalism groups offered evaluations of how well President Obama’s promises of openness have been kept – before an audience of journalists at the Press Club and another audience online.
The session included representatives of the Columbia Journalism Review, the Associated Press, Politico, the Society of Environmental Journalists, the Association of Health Care Journalists, Reporters Without Borders, and the National Association of Science Writers. The Environmental Protection Agency was invited to send a representative, but declined to attend.
