You would think governments and corporations would know by now that negotiating multinational trade treaties in secret only raises suspicion and resistance. But they don't, and the draft Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) treaty is still being kept secret from the hundreds of millions of people whom it will affect.

It matters for environmental journalists. Trade treaties often set up mechanisms for corporations to negate the environmental laws of signatory countries.

Fortunately, Greenpeace Netherlands acquired and published the April 2016 draft text of the TTIP, and WikiLeaks has published it here.
